Barneys opens at Tri-Seven Roppongi

Barneys Japan Inc. (headquarters: 6th South Gate 5-33-8, Sendagaya, Shibuya ward, president: Shinichi Uetadani) will open a flagship store at 7-chome, Roppongi.

The two-story store, which is the company’s sixth in Japan, is located in Tri-Seven Roppongi. The flagship store will have an area of approximately 1,900 square meters (approximately 575 tsubo) and will occupy the first and second floors of the new property. The retail space will carry original collections by Barneys New York and luxury import clothing and goods with an expected store opening in fall 2016.

Barneys Japan was established by Barneys company in the United States (headquarters: state of New York) and is being licensed in Japan. Barneys Japan is currently operating five flagship stores in Japan (Shinjuku, Ginza, Yokohama, Kobe and Hukuoka), and its unique displays, specialized customer service and original selection have established Barneys’ brand image as a one-of-a-kind “specialty store (*)” in Japan. Barneys has been successful in the metropolitan Tokyo, Kansai and Kyushu areas and is hoping to expand its business with many more stores, including its Roppongi store, its third location in Tokyo.

Roppongi has a wide clientele with strong purchasing power in the Minato-ward, and its many museums attract those with interests in culture and art and is expected to grow further as one of the most diverse and dynamic districts in Tokyo. Furthermore, the consumer market is expected to grow as the city attracts tourists from abroad as the 2020 Tokyo Olympics approach. We are confident that Roppongi is a promising location for our flagship store to gather more attention.

The location in the heart of Roppongi with various new and redeveloped commercial facilities and offices complements Barneys, and the company is confident that this will be an ideal location for its business. The Roppongi store will focus on local customers with high fashion sense, and provide unique product lines and quality customer services. We would like present customers our world view and create more fans.
