New European leadership announcement

Matthew Knight named Vice President for European Development

Matthew, who has relocated from Australia, where he held the post of Vice President and Head of Australia, will now head up a highly experienced development team to oversee our development and capital projects in the UK, Germany and the Nordics.

The appointment will further strengthen our development capabilities and expertise, supporting its 1.5M sq ft global pipeline of development, including multiple developments across the UK, Nordics and Europe. The newly created role is part of our new regional development leadership model, designed to further leverage global best practices, and meet the unique and diverse needs of its local markets, assets and tenants. As Vice President for European Development, Matthew will work closely with Nick Moldon, Head of UK and Germany and Kristin Willerström, Pembroke’s newly appointed Regional Director, Nordics.

Mark Takeuchi, Managing Director of Asset Management and Development, comments: “We are investing in our team and strengthening our regional capabilities to deliver our value creation strategies in this core region and globally. Innovation, expertise and growth from within is crucial as we share global best practices and create systems to help us work smarter and meet the needs of our markets, assets and tenants.”

Matthew brings 23 years of project experience and strategic knowledge to his new role as well as a holistic approach to real estate. Joining Pembroke in 2015, Matthew led the refurbishment of Melbourne’s iconic T&G Building at 161 Collins Street, which received a nomination for Best Office Development in the Property Council of Australia’s Innovation and Excellence Awards 2019.

Matthew Knight, Vice President, European Developments added: “Pembroke is a leader in delivering modern workspace which put the occupier first and create active spaces. This is the approach I will continue to bring to the UK and across our European markets. We have an exciting development pipeline across this region, which will provide best-in-class assets designed to be flexible and adaptable with health and wellbeing at their core.”

Prior to joining Pembroke, Matthew worked at Charter Hall where he partnered with Pembroke on the planning, design, procurement and delivery of 20 Martin Place, Sydney. Before this he worked for global construction group Multiplex, as well as with highly agile and successful private developers, such as Winten Property Group, across various asset classes including residential, commercial and retail.
