Construction to collaboration on Commonwealth Pier

Turner-JANEY Selection underscores Pembroke and Fidelity Investments Diversity and Inclusion focus in the Seaport District

We’re pleased to announce it has engaged Turner Construction to work in partnership with JANEY Construction Management, a minority business enterprise, to deliver the transformational, multi-year Seaport World Trade Center revitalization on Commonwealth Pier. The partnership builds upon the recent success of Massport’s diversity and inclusion initiative, which seeks to increase the participation of minorities and women in development projects.

We are excited to partner with Turner and JANEY, said Andrew Dankwerth, Senior Vice President, Design & DevelopmentTurner’s capabilities and considerable experience in the Seaport District along with JANEY’s experience building diverse workforces and creating opportunities for women and minority business enterprises will be tremendous assets as we transform Commonwealth Pier into a new destination benefitting the community, businesses and people working in the Seaport.

Fidelity Investments is slated to occupy 100% of Commonwealth Pier’s revitalized office space when complete.

Amy Philbrook, Head of diversity and inclusion at Fidelity, commented, At Fidelity Investments, we believe who you do business with is a key component of being an advocate for diversity. When companies use their purchasing power as a catalyst for minority-owned businesses, the entire community benefits. We applaud the selection of Turner – JANEY for this transformational project in the Seaport District and look forward to the perspective and experience they will bring to the project

In July, the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) board approved the revitalization of the Seaport World Trade Center on Commonwealth Pier, construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2020 with full occupancy expected by 2024.
